Note on back of file print reads: Arthur H Adams and Alfred Hill, taken when they were writing a Romantic home opera called `The Whipping Boy'. This opera was never produced. It was on Nov 19th that they produced `Hinemoa'. The composer was then 26.
The opera `The Whipping Boy' was never produced. The pair went on to produce `Hinemoa' on 19 November 1896 when Alfred Hill was 26.
