A view from above looking down over the Terraces, with some large circular pools in the foreground. Two groups of two figures are in the left middle distance. The figure on the right of the nearer group holds a staff out to the right of his body.
Blomfield made many copies of this particular view, the majority after the destruction of the Terraces in June 1886 with the eruption of Mount Tarawera. The Library has another almost identical view at G-472.
Reproduced as a Turnbull Library Print in 1985, one of three oils of the Pink and White Terraces by Blomfield. The edition sold out ca 1995
