Description

Three men and a woman inside a pioneer shelter, reading a letter and a newspaper. A pick, spade, basket and guns suggest that they are goldminers. A shelf on the wall holds a parrot and pots and there are pistols below it. A dog sits at the woman's feet.

The parrot may have been drawn as a cockatoo with the colourist mistakenly assuming that it should have conventional parrot colours. It has head feathers like a cockatoo.
