Description

View of the breakwater at the Port of Timaru, showing the concrete construction of the breakwater and masts and funnels of ships on the other side of the wall. Two cranes (probably mobile) can be seen along with railway lines on the top of the breakwater. A shingle covered beach is in the foreground of the image. Photographed by F Bradley & Co in about 1880.

The Timaru Breakwater was built in 1870.
