Description

Contains one letterbook covering the period 1888 to 1894 which contains letters mainly related to Vereker-Bindon's educational work and three scrapbook/diaries which cover the period 1884 to 1908 and contain pasted in newspaper clippings (dealing with educational, sport, gardening and miscellaneous topics) and a few entries regarding his work as an inspector and related to his garden. Also includes a folder of newspaper clippings, correspondence and miscellaneous papers which deal mainly with educational, sporting and personal matters.

Description: This scrapbook/diary contains newspaper clippings and some correspondence dated ca 1880 to ca 1905. The correspondence concerns a farwell function organised by the Auckland Rugby and Cricket clubs for Vereker-Bindon, his absence from a meeting of these clubs (both dated 1884) and a letter issued by the Taranaki Education Board in 1902 concerning a report on Scholarship examinations written by Vereker-Bindon. The newspaper clippings are mainly concerned with sport but there are also a number of clippings of poems, miscellaneous oddities and notices of Vereker-Bindon's marriage and deaths of two of his children.
