A police guard at the entrance to Queen's Wharf, Wellington, during World War II, examining a security pass. Taken by an unidentified photographer for the 'Evening Post' in June 1940.
During World War II, the Wellington Wharves were closed to all sightseers, and only those on business were permitted access and then only if they had written permission.
