Description

Cartoon strip showing Little Eric and his reactions to the changing fortunes in rugby games between the touring British Lions team and the New Zealand All Blacks. Speculates that the Lions could have won if Bob Scott had retired one game earlier, or if Bevan had had a day off, or if the All Black forwards had had boils on their necks and couldn't tolerate a scrum.

Although the Lions won games against provincial sides they were beaten 3-1 in the four-match test series. However they were considered by the public of the time to be "the best-ever side to have toured the Land of the Long White Cloud" (retrieved from http://www.lionsrugby.com/news/9244.php, 22 February 2011)
