Speculates that the Lions could have won if Bob Scott had retired one game earlier, or if Bevan had had a day off, or if the All Black forwards had had boils on their necks and couldn't tolerate a scrum.

Although the Lions won games against provincial sides they were beaten 3-1 in the four-match test series.
