Dr Fuchs was born in Karlsruhe, studied as an architect but had a deep interest in music. He and his family were held in Dachau concentration camp but were released and came to New Zealand via England in 1939. They settled in Wellington working for Natausch and Sons and for the New Zealand Housing Department, continuing with his music interests.

Description: Enclosures - Letter to Mrs D Fuchs from The New Zealand Music Supply Agency, 15 Sep 1966 Richard Fuchs, a Jewish refugee, found a home in New Zealand, hence this carol.
