Fragment of originally a long letter (at least six leaves) from Selwyn to an unknown correspondent (Coleridge?), writing from Pepepe. Discusses King Movement, activities of the Missionary John Morgan and the Wesleyans, as to whether the King will become involved in the Taranaki war or stay in the Waikato; whether Selwyn should proceed to Ngarawahia; his counsel to Waikato and the King; the division between old and young men in the Waikato
