Description

Two women and a child with a dog carrying a money box on its back collecting money for the SPCA. Photographed by a staff photographer of the New Zealand Free Lance.

This photograph was recieved by the New Zealand Free Lance 7 October 1947 and was published 15 October 1947.

The SPCA had been refused permission for a street collection during its World Week for Animals. Instead it used three dogs, two great danes and one alsation, to collect money from the public.
