Gouland, Henry Godfrey 1801-1877 : Diary

Gouland made brief entries of the more significant events of his life from his birth, marriage in 1823, to serving in India and his arrival in NZ in 1847. These selections deal with his life in the Wairau, Nelson area (including Collingwood) and trips to England.

Gouland arrived in NZ in 1847 after serving in India and settled in Nelson where he held a number of official posts including Provincial Secretary, Resident Magistrate and Speaker of the Provincial Executive Council
