Appears in `Making New Zealand' vol 1, No 3, p 22 with the caption `Andreas Reischek, an Austrian naturalist who accompanied von Haast on some expeditions, but who made many of his journeys alone. His book "Sterbende Welt" (from which the photograph is taken) has been translated under the title "Yesterdays in Maoriland."'
