Description

Inside spread reproduces the poem by Drummer T Black of the 10th Manchester Regiment, "in honour of 'Our New Zealand boys' at the front who created such an intense feeling of enthusiasm and friendship with their splendid patriotism, amongst the Lancashire and other British regiments who met them in Egypt, as to inspire these lines."

Front cover shows a New Zealand soldier with a bayonet rifle over his left shoulder, with the Union Jack flag and the Giza pyramids in the background.

Back page reads: "This poem, which should be read and cherished by every New Zealander (especially when they know the conditions under which it has been written) is presented to the public of New Zealand by The Wellington Performing Musicians' Union, to assiste in augmenting the Funds for the Wounded Soldiers and Sailors".
