Photograph published in the New Zealand Free Lance on the 27th of April, 1955, the caption for which reads: A special youth concert by the National Orchestra in the Wellington Town Hall delighted the capital's younger music-lovers who found the orchestras conductor, James Robertson, an amusing and unorthodox compere. Highlights of the evening were the first performance in NZ of Malcolm Arnold's Second Symphony and the replacement of the string players in another item by 12 young enthusiasts from junior ensembles." "First violinist, Vincent Aspey, captured in action."
