Description

Statue of former Prime Minister Keith Holyoake with hands painted red to symbolise blood, Molesworth Street, Wellington. Shows the top half of the statue. Photograph taken circa 6 May 1998 by Evening Post staff photographer Jo Head.

At this time plans were being made for a parade in remembrance of the Vietnam war. A report in the Evening Post of 6 May 1998 stated: "Campaign Against Militarism spokesman Mark Roach said he knew people involved in the graffiti campaign and had been involved in getting some of the ideas together."
