Reminiscences of life in Hamilton East where Chitty went to live with her family in 1872. She describes her wedding in 1874 her and life as a farmer's wife which included making butter, curing bacon, and assisting neighbours with first aid and medical problems and at the birth of their children. There is also information about her childhood friends Annie Wallnutt and Margaret Nagel.
