Photograph of a hapu group of Maori shearers at Eparaima homestead, near Castlepoint, Masterton. From left to right: Manaena Waaka (extreme left, partially obscured), Simian (Himiona, with sheep), Mrs Jack Pine (sister to Waipuka, probably the woman on the far right) and Waipuka (with plate on head). Looking through the window is a man called Carey (grandfather of Alfie and Hugh). Also listed as being present are Te Whitu Piripi (the 7th Philip, tohunga, holding blades), Jack Pine (ploughman), Mrs Himo, Aunt Sally, Milly and Mrs Hipa Morris. Photograph taken by George Moore circa 1904-5.
