Original Evening Post caption reads: "Tokelau Island women arriving at Auckland Airport yesterday when 28 men and women arrived to begin a new life in New Zealand. The Government has invited any Tokelau Islanders who want to, to come to New Zealand. The three tiny islands they call home can no longer support the population...The women are to work in Auckland church institutions." Photograph taken 28th March 1966 by an Auckland Star staff photographer and printed in the Evening Post on 29th March 1966.
