Two small houses and two sheds on a bare plain in summer, with a fence in the foreground and the snow-clad Southern Alps in the background. Possibly close to the Rangitata River, since the artist visited friends in the area on several occasions. The preliminary sketch for this work is on the opposite page of the sketchbook.
