The papers include correspondence relating to his employment and a diary, 1911 kept during one year as a guide. Correspondence with his wife Hannah (Biddy) 1914-1936 comprises much of the collection. There are some letters from John Cawte Beaglehole, his nephew. The papers 1849-1852 concern land his father William owned in South Australia
