A three-quarter length portrait drawing of a youth or boy dressed in trousers, jacket and waistcoat. His shirt has a wide collar and he wears a cravat or wide tie. Both the collar and the tie are highlighted in white pencil.

The subject is likely to be a member of the Richardson family or the Selwyn family.
