Obedience training. "...And lots of lovely overseas trips if you don't do anything nasty in the House..." 19 October, 2005.
- Date
- 2005

- DCDL-0000325
- Description
The image is a variation on the well-known 'His Master's Voice' logo of a dog sitting in front of an old-fashioned gramophone speaker. In this case the dog has the face of Winston Peters, Leader of New Zealand First and Foreign Affairs Minister in the new Labour government. Beside the speaker is a card with the words 'Obedience training' and a picture of the head of Helen Clark, Prime Minister, in admonishing mode, finger wagging. The reference is to Winston Peters' role in the new government, which is the important one of Foreign Affairs but is outside Cabinet. Winston Peters' position was won through negotiation as Labour struggled to create a viable government after the 2005 election.
