Description

Looking south west over Wellington City, circa 1928. Taken by an unidentified photographer.

Note on back of file print reads: "Wellington High School is at the stage of completion reached in 1926. Building did not continue until 1930-31 when the western wing was completed and art block built. This building was going on at the same time that the Carillon was built (1931-32). There is no sign of work having started on this project. Alexandra Barracks on Mt Cook (in front of Wgtn High School still standing) were demolished in 1931 to make way for the National (Dominion) Museum. Date of photograph ca 1927-1929."
