Description: Garforth and Hawkins, (Hawkins was tutor to the children of J. D. Tetley of Flaxbourne Station, Marlborough), one swimming and one seated (naked) on a raft in the breakers by the water's edge, with two boys and two dogs cheering them on from the beach. Several buildings visible at the foot of hills beyond the shoreline. The account below the drawing describes the construction and use by the two men of a makeshift fishing raft. While swimming with the boys, the two men tried the raft, were swept off shore, and had to abandon it and swim to shore. Quantity: 1 drawing(s). Physical Description: Ink, 95 x 205 mm

Jamie and Timothy Moore were from Upper Hutt and were staying at a hut in the Orongrongo Valley. Their bicycles were Christmas presents which they were trying out in an off-road situation. Description: Shows Darlene (Cheeky) Hobson gently telling Rangi that he's too young for her to be romantically interested in him. The Dog thinks to himself that he's old enough and still not interested in her. Exhibited in 'The Famouse Five: Manawatu's Cartoonists on Show', Exhibition curated by the New Zealand Cartoon Archive and exhibited at Te Manawa Art (Manawatu Art Gallery), Palmerston North, from 13 May to 23 June 2002, in association with Massey University and the Palmerston North City Council.
