Context - The Mana Party is a new political party launched by former Maori Party MP, Hone Harawira'. His departure from the Maori Party meant he could call a by-election in the Te Tai Tokerau electorate, which Hone Harawira won for the Mana Party, with a majority much reduced by Labour candidate Kelvin Davis.
