Learn about reading in print and digital formats, weeding your collection, and some ways you can share the story of your first year in the library. Make sure you've already joined our community, so we can send you a Zoom invite!
Who this meeting is for
Staff who are new to a role within the school library, such as:
school librarians
library assistants
teachers with library responsibility
anyone providing school library services to students and staff.

What we'll be doing
In this meeting, we'll:
help you get ready to weed your library collection
learn what the research says about kids reading in print and digital formats
discuss annual reports — discover some great ways to share with your school community what's happened in your library this year.

You may also want to join the meeting a few minutes early (from 3:15pm) to check your tech — make sure your microphone, speakers, and webcam are ready to go.
Prepare to share
At our last meeting, we talked about some actions for you to follow up on:
Keep building up the story of your library by gathering pictures, stories, and feedback.
Prepare for stocktake by talking to your finance person about what they need, and checking out the stocktake functions in your library software.
Start planning for summer reading — read our summer reading guide, gather a team who can help you, and have a chat with your local public library staff about how you might work together.
We'd love to hear how you got on with any of these, or how things are going in your library. There'll be time to share any successes you’ve had, whether big or small!
