How we help you find collection items
Collections, such as those in the Turnbull Library, can only be discovered and used if they are well-described! But, not every description can get the same level of detail.
Hear Nicola Frean, Leader of the Library’s Arrangement and Description team, talk about how the Library navigates elements such as language, format, provenance, original order, and indexing, for its one and a quarter million linked online tools.
About the speaker
Nicola Frean joined the Library in 2011 as its first Leader of Arrangement and Description, having worked previously as an archivist, a Special Materials Librarian, Administrator/Trainer for the National Register of Archives and Manuscripts | Te Rārangi Pūranga, Tuhinga Ake o te Motu, and Newspaper Librarian.
