The Labour History Project is an organisation dedicated to researching, recording, preserving, and promoting Aotearoa New Zealand’s working-class history.

The Labour History Project biennial Rona Bailey lecture will be given by Dr Cybèle Locke and focus on the life of Rona Bailey. Rona Bailey has been described as ‘one of the most important figures on the radical left in twentieth-century NZ.’ In this talk, Cybèle will tell stories about Rona’s lifelong grass roots activism.

At the Labour History Project Annual General Meeting, the winner of the Bert Roth Labour History Award will be announced. This will be followed by Hilary Watson and Keith Stewart speaking about the 1970s Protest photos New Zealand project.

In this Labour History Project event, Wellington nurse Serena Moran will give the Rona Bailey Memorial Lecture in a talk titled 'A workers' initiative: The union health service, 1987 to 2022'. The winner of the Bert Roth Labour History Award will also be announced, followed by a book launch for ‘Women Will Rise! Recalling the Working Women’s Charter’.
