End-of-year library tasks — reflect, plan, celebrate!
Part of Learning and support for new school library staff — 2021 series
It's almost the end of the 2021 school year, so we'll reflect and look at more end-of-year tasks and do some early planning for 2022. We'll also share fun ways to engage readers and celebrate your library helpers.
Who this meeting is for
Staff who are new to a role within the school library, such as:
school librarians
library assistants
teachers with library responsibility
anyone providing school library services to students and staff.
Join our online learning community first
You first need to join our online learning community so we have your email address to send your Zoom invite.
What we'll be doing
In this meeting, we'll:
check in with weeding and stocktake, and run through remaining end-of-year processes
share more ideas for making reading fun
look at ways to appreciate and celebrate your helpers
start thinking about 2022.
Getting ready for this meeting
Get ready to Zoom!
Joining a meeting has instructions if you're new to Zoom.
You may also want to join the meeting a few minutes early (from 1:45pm) to check your tech — make sure your microphone, speakers, and webcam are ready to go.
Prepare to share
At our last meeting, we talked about some actions for you to follow up on, including weeding your collection, stocktake, and starting to write an annual report.
We'd love to hear how you got on with these, or hear how things are going in your library.
If you have a report to share or a photo or two you’d like to show everyone, please email them to Anne anne.dickson@dia.govt.nz by 9am Thursday 11 November.
