Turnbull names metadata

Find out about the names authorities created by the Alexander Turnbull Library for its unpublished collection materials.

Search name authorities

As part of the process of creating finding aids and descriptive records for our unpublished collection materials, we create name authorities to reflect the context of the materials.

Names are defined as entities (corporate bodies, persons or families) who create and maintain archival resources. You can search names both through the Tiaki catalogue for unpublished materials , and the National Library’s aggregated search.

Export EAC-CPF xml files from Tiaki catalogue

From the Tiaki catalogue, you can export Encoded Archival Context – Corporate Bodies, Persons and Families (EAC-CPF) xml for individual name entities by clicking on the ‘Export EAC’ button that appears at the top of the name authority record.
