Research material and ephemera compiled or created by David Colquhoun:
-Two boxes of research material relating to Jack Lovelock for the exhibition ‘Come on, Jack! The Lovelock Olympic Story' curated by Colquhoun for the National Library Gallery in 2000.
-One copy of a draft research essay titled ‘The State, archives keeping and history making in New Zealand 1840-1930’ written by Colquhoun as part of his Diploma of Museum Studies in 1996.
-One electronic document containing the memories of National Library staff and others about a school traffic training programme set up in 1957, emailed to Colquhoun as background for an article written in 2011.
-Analogue and digital research material for a biography of New Zealand athlete George Smith including research notes, correspondence, genealogical data, photographs, copies of archival material, and draft book chapters. Created and compiled between 2007 and 2016.
-Two spiral bound notebooks containing research notes relating to Edward, the Prince of Wales’ visit to New Zealand in 1920, written circa 2014. Also photocopies and transcripts of letters sent by Edward during the tour.
- Athletics ephemera including competition programmes, periodicals, handbooks, rule books, annual reports, and other publications, dating from 1913 to 2007.
Also includes three letters sent to Colquhoun in 2008 in response to his book on, and an interview about, Jack Lovelock.

David Colquhoun was Curator of Manuscripts and Archives at the Alexander Turnbull Library from 1989 to 2014. In addition to articles on many aspects of New Zealand history he has written "As if running on air: The journals of Jack Lovelock" (Craig Potton Publishing, 2008), and "Wellingtonians: from the Turnbull collections" (Steele Roberts Publishing, 2011).
