Also includes some Big River material such as day books, minute books and paysheets. Source of title - Supplied title Formed on 6 June 1896. The first general meeting was called on that date, and miners met in Reefton to form a union in response to the Consolidated Gold Fields Co Ltd move to reduce wages.
