Also includes correspondence from Whitcombe & Tombs Ltd relating to a commission to write 'The Maoris of New Zealand' for an historical series 'The makers of Australasia' in 1907. Excerpts of 'The living races of mankind' [chapter 3 - New Zealand, Tasmania and Australia]. Also some handwritten notes with some drawings of Maori signatures including Kawau, Tinana and Hori [no more context given, but possibly from the Treaty of Waitangi or other land deeds?].
