Born in Kent, England. Fifth son of J R Rogers, of Bexley Heath, Kent. Solicitor of Blenheim. Arrived in New Zealand on the ship 'Cissy' in 1867. Married the Frances Sophia Butt, daughter of the Archdeacon Butt of Blenheim, on 2 Oct 1875 (Marlborough express, 6 Oct 1875, p 3). Correspondence with William Sinclair, solicitor (fl 1885-1913). Photographed outside the Blenheim Post Office in 1905, as part of a group of dignitaries.
