Newspaper owner of Napier. he came to New Zealand in the 1850s, and settled in Napier in 1857; there he founded the 'Hawkes Bay herald'. He was a member of the Provincial Council for Napier Town (1862-1867) and for Havelock North (1867-1871). He sold the 'Herald' in 1871, and died in New Caledonia on 26 November 1875.
