Potts, Thomas Henry, 1824-1888

An explorer, runholder, conservationist and naturalist, he also served as a member of the Canterbury Provincial Council (1858-61 & 1866-76) and the House of Representatives (1866-1870). He was survived by his wife Emma Potts and their 13 children. [See "The Dictionary of New Zealand Biography, Volume Two, 1870-1900, page 396, P27]
