12th Baron Petre. Ensthusiastic builder of churches. Eldest son of William Henry, 11th Baron Petre (1793-1850). Born 20 Dec 1817. Married on 26 Sep 1843, Mary Teresa, eldest daughter of Hon. Charles Thomas Clifford, son of the 6th Baron Clifford of Chudleigh. He succeeded to the peerage as 12th Baron on the death of his father on 3 Jul 1850. His wife died 31 Dec 1895.
