Description: Shows former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic sitting at a desk at his trial and asking for a delay in proceedings and a bigger envelope to write his defense on. Beside him is a pile of boxes full of evidence against him. Refers to the fact that Karadzic again asked a UN court for more time to prepare his defense as he appeared before the tribunal for the first time since the start of his trial. Karadzic is charged with 11 counts of war crimes, including two counts of genocide, for allegedly masterminding atrocities during the Bosnian war, including the 1995 massacre of about 8,000 Muslim males in Srebrenica and the deadly siege of Sarajevo. The trial of the Bosnian Serb leader is considered one of the most significant war crimes cases since the Second World War. Quantity: 1 digital cartoon(s).

Description: In two frames an Israeli spokesman stands at a podium and complains that the UN commissioned Goldstone Report on war crimes in Gaza is unfair as it focuses overwhelmingly on Israel's actions. When someone in the audience points out that Goldstone himself is Jewish the speaker falters and concedes that he is but unfortunately 'not overwhelmingly so'. Refers to the Goldstone report in the U.N. Human Rights Council. Richard Goldstone, a former South African supreme court justice and chief prosecutor in the International Criminal Tribunals for Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia, led a mission to investigate allegations of war crimes in Gaza last winter (Dec. 27, 2008, through Jan. 19). The Goldstone mission concluded that, indeed, Israel and Hamas committed war crimes, and recommended that both parties be given six months to mount independent internal investigations. If they fail, the mission calls on the U.N. Security Council to refer the matter to the International Criminal Court. Quantity: 1 digital cartoon(s).
