The commander is describing the military build-up in response to proof of cruise missile construction in a shed in Auckland. Refers to a true incident when engineer Bruce Simpson made global headlines when he built a cruise missile in his garage. He spurned an offer from an Iranian firm to develop his jet engines. Mr Simpson, 49, is an engineer, website developer and software technician who spent four years perfecting his "X-Jet", similar to the pulse-jets that powered Germany's V-1 missiles in World War II. He is likely in his later years, as his hair and moustache are white, but his age is unknown. He wears his red military jacket, gold and red sash, and medal Inscription on the back of the portrait reads: 'General Charles Emilius Gold, KBC. Born 6th Jan 1809. Married 1st June 1838 at Drummondville, Canada, Eleanor Felicia Askin Geddes. Died 29th July 1871 at Dover. The son of Col Charles Gold CB who commanded 2nd Division of Artillery at Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Commanded 65th Regt. [...] in NZ for 16 years.
