Linwood Cemetery

Opened in 1884, this cemetery was the first municipal cemetery of Christchurch City Council.Cemetery located at 31 Butterfield Avenue, Linwood, Christchurch. Bounded by Bromley Park, Butterfield Avenue, McGregors Road and Hay Street. Managed by the Christchurch City Council, and maintained by The Friends of Linwood Cemetery Charitable Trust.

It was at one time called Christchurch Cemetery or Sandilands Cemetery, as it is located on sandy soil.
