Aranui (Ferry)

GMV 'Aranui' was a New Zealand Railways Department's rail-road ferry vessel and sister ship to the 'Aramoana'. The 4500 ton vessel was launched at Newcastle-on-Tyne, England, on 26 June 1965, built by Messrs Vickers Armstrong Limited. The 'Aranui' had a maximum speed of more than 19 knots at full power.

Laid up at Wellington in June 1984 and sold to Saudi Arabia for ferry service on the Red Sea. Broken up in Singapore in 1994.
