Inscriptions: Photographer's title on negative - bottom right - A Northwood protected 1-9-19 Opened 18 December 1913 and closed 10 February 1930. In 1927 was redesignated Z.L.A. Awanui. New Zealand's first high power spark tranmitter radio telegraph station for ship to shore communication making use of morse code.
