Description: Transparencies of country churches in New Zealand, taken by Geoffrey Thornton or Jocelyn Thornton. Each slide mount is annotated with the name and the location of the church. Dates and photographer name are sometimes annotated. Churches and locations annotated on the slide mounts include St Gabriels' Roman Catholic Church at Pawarenga, chapel at Mangakuri, Norwegian Church at Mauriceville North, St Thomas' Roman Catholic Church at Garston, East Takaka Anglican Church, St John's Anglican Church at Tututotara, St James' Anglican Church at Ngatimoti, church at Tarras, St Barnabas' Church in Warrington, Presbyterian Church at Enfield, St John's Anglican Church at Hira, St Mary's Anglican Church at Esk Valley, St Alban's at Pauatahanui, and Church of the Good Shepherd at Tinui. Title transcribed from item. Most transparencies are undated. Arrangement: Transparencies were arranged in five small plastic slide cases, each holding approximately 30- 40 mounted transparencies, and each labelled "Country Churches". Dates and photographer name are often but not always annotated. Title transcribed from item. Many slides are not dated. Arrangement: Transparencies were arranged in a 6-row, 50 slides per row, plastic case. The arrangement appears generally, although not totally, geographical, from the top of the North Island to the lower South Island. Quantity: 21 colour original transparency/ies.
