Description: A range of tools and implements. On the far left is a fishing spear with forked top, then two paddles, both elaborately ornamented. A fish-hook is below, with a fish-trap, and a a kundu drum and bamboo flute (pan-pipes) and a coconut shell, possibly another musical instrument, and a jew's harp type instrument, made of bamboo (the small feather-shaped object bottom right). There is a small necklace above the musical instruments on the right. Spears and clubs are in the centre and on the right. Drawings of implements brought back by Duperrey on his 1824-1826 voyage to the Pacific. These are likely to have been drawn directly from the objects by Chazal in Paris, rather than copied from intermediate drawings by LeJeune, the artist who accompanied Duperrey.
