Description: A base planning map of Ahuriri Lagoon reclamation and proposed drainage and subdivisions has been used to show the proposed water supply and subdivision for the area of Napier from Napier Park, Greenmeadows to Te Ruru-o-Kuri Island and Bay View. An artesian well and substation are marked, as are pipes, house connections, scour valves, valves and proposed subdivision boundaries which are included in a reference key. Subdivisions are numbered. Includes Crown Land, Native Land and subdivisions marked Public Trustee, also sites of radio stations and the Westshore Emergency Landing Ground. Names of subdivision owners are: G.R. Mongomery, J.I. Description: A copy of an unpublished map from ca.1932, author unknown, showing the Ahuriri Lagoon Reclamation Scheme Plan of the Ahuriri Lagoon near Napier. A network of drains and banks is shown, together with statistical information on areas drained, in acres. The map provides written descriptions relating to the topography and acreage of Catchment Blocks 1-15, which drain into the Ahuriri Lagoon's Contour Channel. For example, a description relating to Catchment Block no. 7 reads: "Catchment no. 7. Steep hills. 770 acres to Contour Channel". The map also includes a bird's eye view of a small island, named "Roro-o-Kuri Island'; a line drawing of the "Old Tutaekuri River Bed"; the main highway north; and part of the East Coast railway and Westshore Bridge. The map has been annotated on reverse by library staff member: "Duplicate. Storage. 27 May 1959". Title supplied by Library. Description: A base planning map of Ahuriri Lagoon reclamation and proposed drainage and subdivision has been used to show the proposed and completed drains, formed and trimmed roads and metalled roads, a stopbank, drains, areas ploughed by rotary hoe and fencing for the area of Napier from Napier Park, Greenmeadows to Te Ruru-o-Kuri Island and Bay View. The map is substantially marked with lines of lateral drains, positions of soil samples taken and soil survey data referred to in reference keys. Includes Crown Land, Native Land and subdivisions marked Public Trustee, also the site of the Westshore Emergency Landing Ground, cattle stops and Park Island Road Bridge with dates of commencement and completion of its building.. Description: The left half of a base planning map of Ahuriri Lagoon reclamation and proposed drainage and subdivision has been used to show the proposed water supply system for the southern area of Napier from Napier Park to Poraite to the vicinity of Westshore Bridge. The subdivision boundaries have been prominently outlined. An artesian well and substation are marked, as are troughs, future house connections, pipes, future extensions, valves, scour valves and proposed subdivision boundaries which are included in a reference key. Subdivisions are numbered. Valves are numbered. Various heights above sea level are recorded including a reservoir. The future extension to the northern area is indicated.
