Participated in ski racing and powerboat racing. Acted as Coastguard volunteer. Died 21 November 2005 after a battle with cancer. Named Bay of Plenty Person of the Year 2005 for fronting Project Hope fundraising campaign for a cancer centre in Tauranga.
