Includes notes, drafts and correspondence relating to the publication `Ms Cellany: Women writers' prose and poetry', compiled by Betty Bremner, Sonia Kellett, Julia Millen and Joy Tonks, published by the New Zealand Women Writers' Society. The biennial Katherine Mansfield Memorial Literary Awards was introduced in 1959 by the Bank of New Zealand and the New Zealand Women Writers' Society in recognition of the importance of Katherine Mansfield to the New Zealand literary arts. This major award is now the Bank of New Zealand Katherine Mansfield Memorial Awards. It is one of four awards collectively known as the Bank of New Zealand Katherine Mansfield Memorial Awards. The other three awards are known as the Bank of New Zealand Novice Writers' Award, the Bank of New Zealand Young Writers' Award and the Bank of New Zealand Women's Suffrage Centennial Award. The New Zealand Women Writers' Society ended in 1991, although established women writers continue representation on the Administering Committee and meet in independent groups.
