Born in Scotland; married Charles Manners Gascoyne in 1835; they lived in India for many years and reared nine children, two of whom died before their second year. Followed her husband to New Zealand in 1854 and lived at Pangatotora, Motueka and Nelson. Cousin of Donald McLean.
