Description: Contains letters to Buller, in his capacity as a lawyer, with regard to Maori land tenure and related payments and other issues, on the West Coast of the North Island in particular (Manawatu, Horowhenua etc); contains copies of various lease agreements; also includes some genealogy and an electioneering pamphlet calling for people to vote for Buller Also contains a hand drawn map by Hunia Te Hakeke of Parewanui showing the different divisions; whakapapa from Hauiti; an agreement to sell land at Waipa; a letter by Teoti Pakipaki establishing his mana to Tuahiwi (Canterbury); a letter announcing the death of Ruta Paratene, a wahine rangatira of Kai Tahu; and information including waiata about a famous patu pounamu named Tuhiwai which belonged to the Muaupoko tribe.
