Gold prospector, explorer, mine director. Born in Bilboa, County Limerick, Ireland, probably in 1829 or 1830. Owned an adze which later came into the possession of Dr J Henderson, and was a subject in the study of adzes by George Leslie Adkin (1888-1964). See DNZB (Vol 2, 1870-1900, p75-76)
